The network access rights of users should be maintained and updated as required by the access control policy. The connection capability of users can be restricted through network gateways that filter traffic by means of pre-defined tables or rules. Examples of applications to which restrictions should be appTlied are:

A. Messaging, e.g. electronic mail

B. File transfer

C. Interactive access

D. Application access

Linking network access rights to certain times of day or dates should be considered
